Fitzpatrick urges vigilance after attempted fertiliser theft

SDLP Councillor Gillian Fitzpatrick has urged vigilance among the farming community after the attempted theft of fertiliser in the Mayobridge area.
fitzpatrick2Speaking to Newry Times, Fitzpatrick said, “Farming families across the North are continuing to find it difficult to make ends meet as a result of suppressed dairy and meat prices.
“The last thing anyone needs is a theft or a burglary setting them back even further.
“After the attempted theft of fertiliser in Mayobridge, I’m urging local people to exercise extra vigilance and to safeguard their properties.
“I would also appeal to people to look out for their neighbours, this is a tight knit community so it’s important that we all have each other’s back.”
