'Death of Mayobridge toddler a shock to the community' – Clarke

South Down Alliance spokesperson Councillor Patrick Clarke has expressed his sorrow after news emerged late last night of the death of a three year old boy in Mayobridge.
Police said there was no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and it is believed the child died after becoming entangled in a blind cord at his house.
Councillor Patrick Clarke said the wider community of Mayobridge are still trying to come to terms with the awful local tragedy.
Speaking to Newry Times, Clarke said, “It is a massive shock to everyone and there will be a deep sense of sadness following this sudden death of a three year old boy.”
“My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this very difficult time and I know that the community will rally round and support the family in the coming days,” he added.
